I was born in the vibrant city of Chennai, and studied in DAV school before graduating in Medicine in Trichy and finally settling in the UK, with my husband and two children. I have always felt a deep connection to our rich heritage and culture, and that, along with our sense of community back home, was the hardest thing to leave behind when moving here.

However, ThaaiTamil Sangam, for the past few years of my life, has made me feel at home once more, whether its through our brilliant cultural events, or some of our sports and well-being activities, which celebrate the beauty of our mother tongue; “Thai Tamil”. I enjoy putting my time and effort into something that people, myself included, will enjoy, and I plan on continuing with this for the years to come. The sense of community that we have in TTS, and all of the friends we make on our journey is what really makes me love it here. It is a great experience for our children as well, as they spend most of their days isolated from our culture, and TTS is a great way of bringing them back to our roots, while giving them a platform to show off their talents and make new friends.

I love Carnatic music and enjoy playing the Veena. I enjoy spending time with family and friends. However, at the end of the day, what I love the most is a peaceful nap and a steaming cup of tea...!
